From the list, 12 films had rotten scores (below 60%) and 38 films had fresh ratings. I clearly have too much time on my hands, so I decided to analyse the Rotten Tomatoes scores of each film in the top 50. However, last time I tried to guess which superhero movies would do well, all my guesses were wrong, so my track record is poor.Įdited 7th Jan '16 4:03:37 PM by Galadriel Suicide Squad and Gambit: The most likely movies to be box-office flops, given the general weirdness (and less comedic elements than Deadpool) of the former, and the recent directoral changes of the latter. Currently, TFA is in 20th place.įor 2016, what I'm curious about is how well the 7 (seven!) comic-book superhero movies will be doing. Inflation-adjusted, The Force Awakens is likely to make at least about as much as The Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi did, which is an impressive accomplishment. Mother of god.You turned one of the hardest and best Champions into an absolute joke. Man, this year has been great for both film creators and audiences.
TFA in particular is looking to be the second movie to gross over $2 billion during its original theatric run. In addition, the same goes for movie that grossed $1.5 billion, with three, Furious 7, Jurassic World, and The Force Awakens. Granted, inflation being what it is, every new year the number is bound to be bigger, but there have been several years that showed less figure than previous year.Īlso, this year has the highest number of movies that have grossed over $1 billion, with five. To start with, I would like to mention that 2015 is the year with biggest box office gross of all time, unadjusted for inflation. And wonderful.Let's be honest, whether we like it or not, box office is a crucial aspect in movie industry, if not the core itself.ĭiscuss box office here, current progress, old records, records getting broken, etc.
Not only will you miss out on the visual grandeur of Jackson’s trilogy, but you might also go insane. Definitely don’t watch on a phone or tablet.
Watch on the biggest screen you have access to. Not everyone has an enormous TV, but you should try to watch on the best screen available. You’re already committing a day to the trilogy, so you might as well do it right. The extended editions add a number of important scenes that weren’t in the theatrical cuts, especially The Return of the King (The Mouth of Sauron, The Houses of Healing, etc.). Together, they’ll add two hours to your binging day, but it’s worth it. Buy the extended editions (or figure out if they’re available to stream in your country).
